Week 04 · Oct 18 – Oct 25, 2026
The Song of Colour (2026, 87 mins)
Directed by Ashley Dighton
Reeling from a messy breakup, a woman’s understanding of the world, and how to find happiness in it, is fundamentally altered by three people she meets in her local coffee shop. A tightly written, dreamy Australian arthouse film, The Song of Colour is a moving celebration of kindness, of real connection in an increasingly isolated world. For her, and for the audience, we get the sense that everything might actually be ok.

Week 4! Thanks, Ash, for introducing such a wonderful film to the Rec Hall audience. We’re so excited to showcase The Song of Colour this week. A great watch that let me dive into the dynamics of strangers becoming acquaintances, and the importance of being open to connection.
