1. What you pay, and when
Rec Hall costs $1.00 per week. Programming weeks run Sunday 7:00 PM to the following Sunday 7:00 PM, always in Eastern Time (America/New_York) — including across Daylight Saving Time changes. Instead of charging your card every week, your weekly $1 membership cost accrues on your account, and Rec Hall charges your saved payment method the accumulated total once every 4 weeks.
If you subscribed through a link from a creator in Whop's affiliate program, your membership is billed by Whop instead: $4.00 (the same $1.00 per week) charged at the start of each 4-week period, beginning the day you subscribe. Whop may add applicable sales tax or VAT at checkout, shown before you pay. Sections 2 and 3 don't apply to Whop memberships.
2. Joining partway through a week
Joining before launch. If you join before Rec Hall's first film launches on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 7:00 PM Eastern Time, nothing accrues for any time before launch, and none of the pricing below applies. Your first paid week is the first programming week, which begins at that moment, and your first 4-week charge (for weeks 1 through 4) is made as the 4th week begins, on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. If you cancel before launch, you're not charged anything.
Once Rec Hall has launched, because you can join at any point during a programming week, your first (partial) week is priced based on how much of it is left when you join:
- More than 48 hours remaining: that week accrues the full $1.00.
- Between 2 and 48 hours remaining: that week accrues $0.75.
- Less than 2 hours remaining: that partial week is free — it accrues $0.00, and your first full $1.00 paid week begins with the next programming week.
Every full programming week after that accrues $1.00. None of this is charged to your card immediately — see Section 3 for how the actual charge works.
3. The 4-week charge
Rather than charging you every week, Rec Hall combines your weekly accrued charges into one charge every 4 weeks, for the exact total accrued since your last charge. Each week's $1.00 accrues as soon as that week begins — the same way your first charge happens immediately at signup, before you've used that week — so the charge itself fires as soon as the 4th week's accrual lands, at the start of that week rather than its end. For example: a normal signup accrues $1.00 in each of 4 weeks and is charged $4.00 once the 4th week begins. A signup within the final 48 hours of a week accrues $0.75 for that first week plus $1.00 for each of the next 3 weeks, and is charged $3.75 the same way.
You can always see your current accrued balance and the date of your next scheduled charge on your account page.
4. Canceling
You can cancel any time from your account page — it's entirely self-service online, with no phone call, email, or retention survey required. Canceling ends your access immediately.
If you have an accrued balance when you cancel — meaning weeks you've already had access to but haven't yet been charged for in a 4-week cycle — you're charged that exact amount at cancellation. Your account page shows the exact amount before you confirm. This is not a cancellation fee — it's payment for the membership weeks you've already had. Once a week has begun and its charge has accrued, canceling later in that same week does not reduce that week's charge. If you have no accrued balance when you cancel, you're not charged anything further.
Subscribed through Whop? Cancel on Whop — your account page links straight to it. You keep access until the end of the 4-week period you've already paid for, and nothing more is charged.
5. Renewal
Your membership renews automatically — a new week's $1.00 accrues every Sunday at 7:00 PM Eastern Time, combined into your next 4-week charge — until you cancel. A Whop membership renews every 4 weeks at $4.00, charged by Whop, until you cancel it on Whop.
6. Refunds
Payments to Rec Hall are generally non-refundable. We'll make an exception where the law requires it, or where we determine, at our discretion, that a genuine billing error or exceptional circumstance warrants a refund. To ask about a specific charge, email ryan@rechallmovies.com. Refunds for Whop memberships are issued through Whop.
7. Featured film changes
Featured films normally change every Sunday at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Occasionally we may need to delay or substitute a film for licensing or technical reasons — see our Terms of Service for how that's handled.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective / last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
