Terms of Service
Effective / last updated: September 30, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rec Hall (the "Service"), operated by Rec Hall Movies LLC, a New York limited liability company ("Rec Hall," "we," "us"). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Rec Hall is operated by Rec Hall Movies LLC, a New York limited liability company.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
You must affirmatively agree to these Terms before subscribing. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you subscribe through Whop (see Section 9), you agree to these Terms by completing Whop's checkout for Rec Hall, and we ask you to confirm that agreement the first time you enter The Hall.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or subscribe. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian, including for payment. The Service is offered primarily to users located in the United States.
4. The Service
Rec Hall streams one hand-picked film at a time. A new film normally becomes the featured film each Sunday at 7:00 PM Eastern Time (America/New_York), and stays up for that programming week. We may occasionally need to change, delay, or interrupt the featured film or its availability window — see Section 18.
5. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at ryan@rechallmovies.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
6. Price
The Service costs $1.00 USD per week. Weekly charges accrue and are combined into a single charge every 4 weeks, rather than being charged separately each week — see our Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy for exactly how this works. If you subscribe through Whop, the price is the same $1.00 per week, charged by Whop as $4.00 USD at the start of each 4-week period. Whop may add applicable sales tax or VAT at checkout, shown before you pay.
7. Joining partway through a week
If you join before Rec Hall's first film launches on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 7:00 PM Eastern Time, nothing accrues for any time before launch, and your first paid week is the first programming week, which begins at that moment. Once Rec Hall has launched, because programming weeks run Sunday 7:00 PM to the following Sunday 7:00 PM Eastern Time, the first partial week when you join is priced based on how much of it remains: more than 48 hours remaining accrues the full $1.00; between 2 and 48 hours accrues $0.75; less than 2 hours remaining means that partial week is free, and your first full paid week begins with the next programming week. See our Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy for worked examples. This applies to memberships billed by Rec Hall; a membership bought through Whop instead starts a new 4-week period on the day you subscribe.
8. Automatic renewal and the 4-week charge
Your membership renews automatically until you cancel. Rather than charging your payment method every week, Rec Hall accrues your weekly $1.00 charges and charges your saved payment method the accumulated total once every 4 weeks. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on this basis.
A membership bought through Whop renews automatically every 4 weeks at $4.00, charged by Whop at the start of each period, until you cancel it on Whop.
9. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. Rec Hall never receives or stores your complete card number — Stripe handles that through tokenization. You authorize us to charge the payment method you provide for the amounts described in these Terms, including the cancellation charge described in Section 10.
If you subscribe through a link from a creator in Whop's affiliate program, your membership is sold and billed through Whop (whop.com) instead. Whop charges your payment method, renews your membership, and processes any refund, under its own terms as well as these. Rec Hall doesn't receive your card details from Whop either. Creators who share those links are paid a commission by Whop out of your membership fee; this doesn't change your price.
10. Cancellation
You can cancel any time, online, from your account — no phone call, email, or survey required. Canceling ends your access immediately. If you have an accrued balance not yet included in a 4-week charge at the time you cancel, you authorize us to charge your payment method that exact accrued amount at cancellation — this is payment for membership weeks you've already had, not a cancellation fee. See our Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy for the full details and worked examples.
If you subscribed through Whop, cancel on Whop — your Account page links to it. Your access continues until the end of the 4-week period you've already paid for, and nothing more is charged when you cancel.
11. Refunds
Payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or where we elect, at our discretion, to issue a refund for a genuine billing error or exceptional circumstance. Refunds for memberships bought through Whop are issued through Whop.
12. One household, one stream
A Rec Hall subscription is for personal, non-commercial use by one household. You agree not to share your account credentials outside your household, and not to stream on more than one device simultaneously.
13. Your license to watch
Subject to these Terms and your active subscription, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to stream the featured film for personal, non-commercial viewing. You may not download, record, capture, reproduce, redistribute, publicly perform, or otherwise copy any film made available through the Service, in whole or in part.
14. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any content protection or access controls;
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service;
- Share, sell, or transfer your account or credentials to anyone outside your household;
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
15. Content ratings
Rec Hall does not currently display an official content rating (such as an MPAA rating) for the featured film. If we do so in the future, any rating shown will reflect a real, sourced classification for that film — we will never invent or guess a rating. Separately, subscribers may leave their own public rating and review of a film; that is a subscriber's opinion, not an official content classification, and the two are not the same thing.
A featured film may also open with a short advisory noting content such as language, nudity, or violence. This is Rec Hall's own descriptive notice, based on our review of the film — it is not an official rating and is not issued by any ratings body.
16. Intellectual property
The Rec Hall name, logo, and site design are owned by us. Featured films remain the property of their respective rights holders and are licensed or otherwise made available to us for streaming to subscribers; nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any film to you.
17. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate Rec Hall: Stripe for payment processing, Whop for memberships bought through its creator affiliate program, Supabase for account authentication and our database, and Mux for video hosting and streaming. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable to the services they provide us.
18. Service interruptions and content changes
We may need to delay, substitute, or interrupt the featured film or the Service itself — for licensing, technical, or other reasons. We'll try to let subscribers know when a change is significant, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of any specific film, and a change of this kind does not by itself entitle you to a refund beyond what's described in Section 11.
19. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, including the restrictions in Sections 12–14. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time as described in Section 10.
20. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
21. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rec Hall's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you actually paid Rec Hall in the 12 months before the claim arose.
22. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Rec Hall harmless from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
23. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York. Nothing in these Terms requires mandatory arbitration or waives your right to participate in a class action.
24. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective / last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continuing to use the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
25. Assignment
We may assign these Terms and transfer operation of Rec Hall to another entity at any time, including to an affiliated or successor entity. Doing so does not reduce your rights under these Terms.
